A pleasant "cosy" mystery with a likable protagonist and an adequate plot.

Genre: Mystery (Amateur Sleuth)

Synopsis: Dorothy Martin, an expatriate American living in Britain, encounters a nice young man on her train to London. Alas, by the time the train pulls in to Victoria Station, the man is dead, possibly of a heart attack. Dorothy's initial shock turns into curiousity when the death appears to have some mystery associated with it.

Looks like Dorothy, against all good advice, needs to investigate a murder!

Full Review: Dorothy, a comfortable, intelligent, middle-aged woman with a streak of curiousity, is both plausible and likable. The other characters surrounding her are well-portrayed as well.

The villain is telegraphed, and the main mystery itself is rather weak, but the character interaction makes this a satisfying book.

Overall: 6; Plot: 5.5; Characters: 6; Style: 5.5; World-building: 5.5; Originality: 5;
