Lightweight and entertaining, the book has a likable but sometimes frustratingly helpless heroine, slightly improbable plot and a pleasant background.

Genre: Mystery (Golf)
Synopsis: Lee Ofsted is a young professional golfer, scraping money together to go on the tour and just breaking even on the winnings. While her game is improving—she hopes—her finances are always strained. So when an opportunity to tutor company executives on a pleasant resort Block Island appears, Lee somewhat relucantly agrees.
The situation is pleasant, and other than missing her boyfriend, Lee enjoys the excellent accomodations and the pleasant nature of the island. However, the tensions between the executives place a strain on her peace, peace which shatters first with a kidnapping attempt and next with a murder.
Lee, reluctant to get involved, nevertheless gives in to her curiousity, and starts asking questions.
Full Review: The book is a lightweight, pleasant diversion. The slew of motives that emerge during the investigation is improbable, and Lee's actions sometimes seem to lack logic. The protagonist remains generally likable, despite a couple of episodes of feminine helplessness. The supporting characters, on the whole, are entertaining and interesting.
When read with a non-critical eye, this mystery proves entertaining.
