A humorous spy adventure with an unusual heroine, this novel has some likable characters, exotic locales and tense confrontations.

Synopsis: In an unusual assignment, the grandmotherly Mrs. Pollifax, who has occasionally performed small tasks for the CIA, the part-time spy is asked to accompany and keep an eye on a less experienced but Arabic-speaking agent in Morocco. Things, however, start to go wrong from the moment Mrs. Pollifax meets her assigned partner, Max Jenko. As their trip across Marocco escalates from a routine trip to a murderous race, Mrs. Pollifax must contend not only with double agents, the secret police and the militant opposition in an undeclared war, but also with the strangely serene philosophy of a Sufi teacher.
With the help of injured agents, unexpected brass from the Agency, poor but kind locals and a small boy, Mrs. Pollifax must unmask the traitor, get the work to the CIA, and, most importantly, survive her trip to the African nation.
Full Review: Another pleasant, fast-paced and superficial entry to the Pollifax saga, this novel, as usual, provides a mixture of humor, tension, interesting characters and exotic locations. While not relying on any other books in the series, this adventure forms a pleasant link in the chain of the light spy novels.
