A pleasant narrative is good at exploring human motivations but rather thin in the actual mystery investigation.

Synopsis: This is an unabridged recording of Death Goes on Retreat.
Sister Mary Helen and her friend Sister Eileen arrive at a mountain retreat a week early. Instead of a company of nuns, they encounter several priests on retreat, a harried nun in charge, an irritable cook, and a pretty cook's helper.
Before long, another visitor turns out dead, and the subsequent investigation puts veryone at the retreat unde suspicion. The two elderly sisters take matters into their own hands, as they talk to the company trying to identify possible suspects.
Full Review: The sisters and the priests are lively, if a bit stereotypical. The book on the whole is entertaining, with its narrative serving to explore the life stories of several people, with their combination of flaws and aspirations. Unfortuantely, the murder suspect seems pretty obvious, and the author uses heavy foreshadowing and several obvious sliff-hangers, telegraphing the plot.
Pleasant, but thin on the investigative details, the book provides moderate entertainment.
