A decent plot with likable investigators make for an enjoyable mystery, despite a weakened ending.

Genre: Mystery (Police Procedural)
Synopsis: The plotline is intriguing, with elements of academic conflict, hints of fraud, New York's criminal history, and the tangled web of on-campus drugs.
The characters are interesting, although the upper-class Manhattan lifestyle of the main character sometimes gets in the way of engaging reader's sympathy.
Still, the plot remains taut and twisty until the end, where it suddenly becomes choppy and abrupt. The ending weakens this otherwise entertaining book.
