A satisfying investigation featuring both footwork and some tense action, with personal involvement by the protagonist and his friends.

Synopsis: This is an unabridged recording of Cinnamon Skin.
Travis McGee, who occasionally tackles tough mysteries for private clients, and his friend, retired economist Meyer, spend much of their time laxing about in their boats in Florida. When Meyer goes to Canada for some guest lectures, his niece and her husband borrow Meyer's boat. The boat explodes killing the couple, and a terrorist threat is phoned in against Dr. Meyer. As the grief-stricken economist tries to recollect his niece's life, Travis digs into the real reasons for her death.
Full Review: A well-balanced plot here introduces an intelligent and utterly amoral criminal, while providing plenty of personal development for McGee and Meyer. The investigation is handled well, with the two characters pursuing hints in a logical sequence.
The pacing of the book is occasionally interrupted by extended monologues, but they are almost a trademark of the author's style. Some of the interactions seem a bit rushed, but, again, form almost a trademark style of the book, and can thus be accepted in the genre.
The conslusion is satisfying, as well as satisfyingly tense, and is combined with some changes in the main characters' lives continuing several inter-book plots.
